In church yesterday we sang the following song:

After we sang the song, the pastor came forward to explain something we often confuse about our trust in God. Many times our trust in God is based on the expected outcome—that He’ll work out everything according to what we want. Our faith is in the outcome.
However, that is not what it means. To trust God is to trust in who He is no matter the outcome, to have faith in Him. To trust that He is Good, Kind, Sovereign and Faithful—no matter what. Our circumstances change and we change but God never changes!
This was a good reminder to me and I hope it is to you as well.

Yes, that’s exactly what I came to the morning of Paul’s post-op appointment when we’d receive his pathology report. There was a tearful submission as I walked & prayed that morning – no matter what the results God would still be good & worthy of trust. Though He chose in the end to give us what we desired I had chosen to thank Him no matter what already. Though He didn’t test that resolve, I know better His ability to give good to me, to change ME to trust & be at peace & be His witness through the tears (as He has all through this public journey).
Praying for peace & steady faith for you & Bob in this time to trust in your lives.
